Blog - Rural Reformation

Description: Ray Brandon describes himself as an average guy married to an extraordinary woman with incredible children.

History: Originally from the South Philadelphia area, Ray and his wife moved to Michigan in the early 90's. Ray was the Youth Pastor at Skeels Baptist Church before moving to the Kalamazoo area where he has served as Pastor of Student Ministries at Northeastern Baptist Church for 10 years. While in college he helped plant Emmanuel Korean Baptist Church a bilingual congregation in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he served as the Pastor of English Ministries.

How he came to Northbridge: Ray helped form the launch team in the summer of 2004.

Passions: Family. Ray also loves to coach. He has coached cross-country at Gladwin High School and Plainwell middle school and coached varsity wrestling for Gull Lake High School. AYSO soccer is his most recent coaching passion coaching two of his children.

Family: Wife - Grace, and children - Cole, Mimi Grace, Samantha, and Roman

Cassie Keith (contact)

Description: Cassie is highly motivated. She loves kids and has a passion for Bible study. Cassie oversees children's ministries at all campuses.

How she came to Northbridge: Cassie came to Northbridge as a college student and is currently a student at Moody Bible Institute.

Passions: Bible study and reciting Warren Wiersbe quotes.

Family: Cassie married Northbridge youth leader Craig Keith in December of 2008.  Craig who is in the Army ROTC program attends Western Michigan University and on occasion also teaches on Sunday mornings.

Grace (contact)

Description: Grace is the mom of the mom's and a counselor to women at Northbridge. She has earned a place in women's hearts for her insightful advice and winsome wisdom.

History: Grace grew up in a pastor's home. She has one sister who died at age 5 and two brothers who are both Pastors, one in Alaska the other in Pennsylvania.

How she came to Northbridge: Grace is married to the church planter and pastor. She helped start the church with her husband through sacrifice and opening her home on many occasions.

Passions: Grace loves the water especially the ocean. She loves to vacation in Ocean City, MD on the Chesapeake Bay. She loves her husband and four children and loves to disciple other women. Her favorite commentator on the Bible is Warren Wiersbe and her favorite preacher is her dad.

Family: Husband: Ray Children: Cole, Mimi, Samantha, and Roman

Advice: "Don't leave globs of toothpaste in the sink!

Volunteer Worship Team Leader

Kevin Cutler (contact)

Description: Kevin is both an incredible trumpet player and professional chef. As a day job, Kevin is a sales representative for US Foods but on Sunday's he's the leader of the band.

History: Kevin grew up in South West Michigan and loved and still loves marching band.

How he came to Northbridge: Kevin and his wife Amanda came to Northbridge after having drifted from going to church for a long time. God worked in his life and in their marriage to bring them closer and also brought into their family an amazing little girl, Anna. Kevin's journey brings to worship, humility, struggle and the ultimate grace of Jesus our Savior

Passions: Fishing, cooking, pop-up trailer camping, watching the Michigan games at Rino's, pursuing Jesus, and doing as little yard work as possible.

Family: Wife: Amanda Children: Anna

Advice: When frustrated or nervous, place your palm in the middle of your forehead. Now rub. Ahhh, that's good. Now work on what's frustrating you.

Lynn Coonrod (contact)

Description: Lynn is incredible! There's not much else we can say to describe her. She has a compassionate heart for people and incredible organizational skills.

History: Lynn grew up in the Midwest where she met her husband Paul in college. Paul's job moved their family (3 children) to the east coast where Lynn opened a Mrs. Field's cookie store and continued a career as a hazardous materials shipper. Yes, that is an unusual combination-a mother of three who bakes cookies and ships explosives but it describes Lynn perfectly!

How she came to Northbridge: Lynn was on the launch team and is a charter member of Northbridge. Before being hired on staff Lynn volunteered 10-25 hours a week for a year to help the church get off to a good start.

Passions: Karate and shopping, and if you've been shopping with Lynn you will know how they both work together! Lynn loves her family dearly and continues to care for her extended family as well.

Family: Husband: Paul Children: Kristen, Adam and Leah.
