Pastor Ray Brandon
Pastor Ray’s youth can be summed up in two TV theme songs. Ray grew up in Philadelphia (cue the Fresh Prince) and he met his wife, Grace, in Scranton, Pennsylvania (cue up the theme song to The Office). They married in 1992 and have four children. Cole is married to Zayda and they live in Louisville, KY. Mimi is studying to become a nurse at Cedarville University and Samantha (Sam) and Roman attend Parchment High School.
Rays path through ministry is connected through relationships. He was hired twice by the same Lead Pastor; once in northern Michigan and then again in Kalamazoo. In 2005, after serving 10 years as a associate pastor at Northeastern Baptist Church Ray started Northbridge Church as a outreach of Northeastern Baptist. Relationships continued as teenagers who grew up under Ray’s ministry, who were now married and starting families became the start-up team for a new church. Thirteen years later a whole new generation of Jesus followers are helping their friends and neighbors find Jesus and flourish.
In addition to leading Northbridge, Ray is passionate about many other gospel-centered churches flourishing in Southwest Michigan. Ray leads a group for church strengthening in Southwest Michigan for Converge MidAmerica and coaches pastors who are starting new churches.
In 2016, Northbridge Church started a new church in Portage, Michigan called CityGate Church. CityGate is a young, energetic and growing church reaching those who are far from God. While working for Stryker Medical, the founding pastor of CityGate was mentored by Ray and the Elders at Northbridge.
Rays family’s favorite holiday is St. Patrick’s Day. Rarely have they missed turning the river green and the legendary Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade. Sláinte! Another passion is hiking. The Brandon’s are section hiking the Appalachian Trail and hope to complete the 2,280 miles together.
